Event photography for Wake Up, Wiggy Worm!, a semi-interactive, multi-sensory theatre experience designed especially for babies and toddlers, staged at Esplanade’s PIP’s PLAYbox. The performance invited little ones to squish, wiggle, watch, and wonder, blending gentle storytelling with sound, texture, and movement.

Photographing theatre for very young audiences requires a careful balance; capturing fleeting expressions, quiet curiosity, and moments of delight, while remaining unobtrusive in an intimate, sensory-led environment. This coverage focused on the interactions between performers, children, and caregivers, as well as the tactile textile installations and playful atmosphere that defined the experience.

Featuring actor Jasmine Blundell, music by Bennett Bay, fabric collages by students of E-Bridge Pre-School, and creative direction by Natalia Tan, the event celebrated early childhood imagination through art, music, and movement. The resulting images were created to support documentation, publicity, and archival needs, while preserving the warmth, gentleness, and magic of a child’s first theatre experience.
